Dr. Joanna Corbit recently moved to Charleston from Green, Ohio. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Malone College and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2002. While in Optometry School she was an Officer of Epsilon Psi Epsilon, which cultivates the practice of Optometry and where she got her passion for giving back to her community. She was the Program Chair for the Vision Care Fund and Pilot Dogs, both programs that provided glasses and seeing eye dogs to locals in need. She also received the Varilux Dispensing Award – an award recognizing exceptional patient care.
Upon graduation Dr Corbit worked in Corporate Optometry where she specialized in Primary Care and Contact Lens. Dr. Corbit completed a mission trip to Paraguay, South America, where she worked with Lions Club International providing exams and glasses to hundreds of people – most of whom had never had an eye exam or proper vision correction in their life.
Dr. Corbit is married and has two children. Joanna loves to travel and is really enjoying exploring and getting to know Charleston – her favorite day is a day spent at the beach.
Dr. Corbit is very excited to bring her experience and passion for patient care to the growing Cainhoy area.
