Dr. Joanna Corbit – a highly experienced optometrist and proud local business owner – founded our practice to create the kind of warm, personalized eye care she felt people in Charleston deserved but couldn’t find. From the moment you walk in, our friendly team makes you feel right at home. We’ll greet you with a smile, offer a comfortable, unhurried exam, and explain everything thoroughly in plain English.

Our Optometrist
Dr. Joanna Corbit relocated to Charleston in 2017 from Green, Ohio. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Malone College and obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2002. During her time in Optometry School, she served as an Officer of Epsilon Psi Epsilon, an organization dedicated to the advancement of Optometry, where she developed her passion for community service. Dr. Corbit was the Program Chair for the Vision Care Fund and Pilot Dogs, both initiatives that provided eyeglasses and guide dogs to local residents in need. Additionally, she was honored with the Varilux Dispensing Award, which recognizes outstanding patient care.
Following her graduation, Dr. Corbit practiced in Corporate Optometry, specializing in Primary Care and Contact Lens fittings. She also participated in a mission trip to Paraguay, South America, collaborating with Lions Club International to provide comprehensive eye examinations and eyeglasses to hundreds of individuals, many of whom had never received professional vision correction.
Dr. Corbit is married and is the mother of two children. She enjoys traveling and is particularly fond of exploring Charleston, with her favorite days spent at the beach.
Dr. Corbit is eagerly looking forward to contributing her experience and dedication to patient care in the expanding Cainhoy area.
